Popularized in song, the Orange Blossom Special was a seasonal train marketed to lure travelers from the frigid Northeast to sunny Florida. From 1925 to its final run in 1953, it remained a heavy weight consist. The train was repainted however in its final years of operation, wearing a coat of red and a “green” that was nearly completely gray. Running over Pennsylvania and RF&P north of Richmond, the consist could look just as sharp behind a pair of RF&P E units or a GG1. Lionel’s set is also perfect for clearing away any winter blues. The seven-car train is ready to take your plastic patrons on an overnight trip to Florida’s vacationland.
